An exhibition “Chasing Marc Chagall in Israel” is going to be held in G.H. Vashenko’s picture gallery in Gomel on the 20^th of June. Its holding is connected with 125^th anniversary since Marc Chagall’s birthday.

30 joint works of professional Israeli artists will take part in the exhibition. In particular the works of such artists as Joseph Josade, Ann Manzon, Marc Vcherushanskij, Andrew Sofjin, Sasha Ganelin, Joseph Reznikov, Oleg Shkred, Andrian Judro, Irina Sorochinskaja will be shown at the exhibition.

An exhibition project is a tribute of the present generation to the outstanding painter, who depicted Biblical landscapes in his works and who introduced Jewish poetry to the International Arts. The general concept of the exhibition – a dialogue between a present Russian-speaking artist with the Master, who joined cultures of East European countries and the country of Zion, which became a symbol of the cultural development of Israel.

125^th anniversary since Marc Zaharovich Chagall’s birthday will be celebrated on the 6^th of July. Chagall introduced the Russian community to Israeli art. Chagall’s open air, which included pictures showing different places of Chagall’s staying – Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Jaffa, Akko, including visit to Chagall’s house in Haifa, was first held in Israel in autumn 2011 .

The exhibition is organized with the support of Israeli cultural centre of Israeli Embassy in Belarus. It will last till the 1st of July.
