Lake Svityaz is situated on the border of Novogrudok and Korelichi districts (Grodno Region) 20 km away from the town of Novogrudok the basin of the River Molchad).
The lake is 258 metres above the sea level.

Area — 2.24 square km, length — 1.7 km, width — 1.6 km, maximum depth — 15 metres, average depth — 3 metres, coastline — 4.5 km.
The local flora contains many rare plant species, such as the Dortman lobelia and the quillwort. Some of the plants growing here are only found in France, Belgium, Germany and Java.
The lake’s ichthyofauna counts nine fish species, including goldfish, dace, tench, pike and perch.

Local historical sights include a Paleolithic settlement near the village of Valevka.
Amateur fishing permitted. The area adjacent to the lake is used for recreation purposes only.
