The museum opened in August 1995.
It consists of eight halls (27,506 exhibits):
- exhibition,
- history,
- crafts,
- weaving,
- clothing
- rituals,
- national traditions.
The museum also has a large collection of folk songs.
The museum regularly stages folk-style entertainment performances (traditional dishes, interactive games, wedding and Christmas traditions, etc.). The cost of the show depends on the number of people in a group (advance booking advisable).
Tickets:
Belarusian and Russian citizens: adults — BYR 1,010, children — BYR 610.
Foreign citizens — BYR 2,410.
Excursions (in Russian, Belarusian):
Belarusian and Russian citizens: BYR 6,000.
Foreign citizens: BYR 12,000. (prices valid for 2006)
