- Liubcha, a small borough in the present-day Grodno Region, had repeatedly been presented by kings and great counts as a gift to their retinue. First, Lithuanian King Mindovg would present the borough to Kyiv’s boyar Andrey Kiyan, who settled down in Novogrudok in seeking refuge from the Tartar’s frequent inroads. In 1428 King Vitaut would present Liubchas as gift to his spouse Ulyana. In 1499 Great Count Alexander presented the borough to Feodor Khreptovich.
